I understand where you're coming from, but that's not how it works. Evolution comes with increasing the strength, while levels don't increase with age (just look at the farty noble).

there's also the fact that the black cat race in its entirety were cursed never to evolve for the last 500 years due to one among them kinda single-handedly nearly wiped out the world. This is also why they are persecuted.

Fran is 12 and was only level 1 at the start of the show, so no, that logic doesn't make sense.

This show was really good and didn’t have over the top fan service being shoved in your face all the time. It was well done. Fran’s personality gels really well with Teacher’s personality.

urgh that stupid bitch Fran was unarmed why did u have to butt in. u didnt even do anything during the all dungeon. for a so called rank A all u did was not know wot to do

I understand your frustration, but the reason Amanda butted in was trauma leading to a lapse in judgement. Given that she raised 2 black cats and feels personally responsible for their apparently gruesome deaths, seeing Fran take a big hit made the A rank adventurer lose her mind temporarily. In that moment, she would have destroyed the whole dungeon if it would keep Fran safe.

But on a literary note, I do get why the mangaka chose an intervention route like that: simply put, if Fran gained that spider's skills and tried to use them, it would break immersion way too much when they are trying to hide the sword's abilities. Meanwhile, not using those trap making skills when camping alone on your journey would break immersion in it's own way too... Thus, destroy the McGuffin is the best move. Not to mention how one would explain the all-seeing owl not seeing that the sword just absorbed the spider's powers....

Ok so I get that each of the pieces of her new gear is special and serves a function, but what purpose does that belt across her stomach serve? Is that part of the "shield function"???

She actually has a dagger in there during the farewell scene, and it might actually help with the defense. My guess is that the dagger would be more versatile than trying to skin a deer with a magic sword, and that Fran might try to hunt lesser monsters with it away from Teacher so that she could better be prepared in case she finds herself in a disarming trap again.

Also, I really hope they get better voice actors for the side parts. This had the trifecta of bad accent attempts: Scottish, English, and topping it off with a disgustingly bad French with the post credits.
